Peter Farrell, CIT Regional Coordinator – Charleston

Peter Farrell is a retired Lieutenant with the Charleston Police Department. During his 25-year career he served the Department in the Patrol and Detective Divisions. He has also served as a Command Duty Officer, Team Three Commander, the Property Crimes Unit Commander and the Commander of the Crime Information Operations Center.  In addition to his primary duties, he was also the Commander of the Crisis Negotiation Team. He also facilitated the introduction of the Crisis Intervention Team Model to the Charleston Police Department and served as the CIT Unit’s first commander. His educational background includes graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political
Science and Public Justice from the State University of New York College at Oswego. He received his Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Charleston Southern University in 2001.  He is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute of Police (SMIP) in Boston, MA.
